Stanley M Schwarz
Stanley M. Schwarz, Esquire, the founding Principal of the law firm of Stanley M. Schwarz, Professional Corporation, was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He joined the Army as a 20 year old at the beginning of the Korean War as a buck private and was immediately assigned to the Army Security agency, an intelligence gathering Unit of America’s Armed Forces. After a period of intense training as an enlisted man, he was chosen for Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant, Infantry, upon graduation. Thereafter, he served in Korea as an Intelligence Officer and was discharged at the age of 22 as a First Lieutenant at the end of 1953, following the Korean War truce.

In January of 1954, he entered Temple University as an undergraduate and after only 1½ years, he was accepted into Temple University Law School. In 1958, Mr. Schwarz graduated from Temple University Law School with honors, and achieved the prestigious position as Managing Editor of the Temple Law Quarterly. Upon graduation, he was selected as a Judicial Law Clerk for the renowned Court of Common Pleas No. 6 in Philadelphia County and served for two (2) years under five (5) different Judges of that Court. At the recommendation of that Court, Mr. Schwarz was appointed as an Assistant District Attorney for the City of Philadelphia, a position in which he served for over six (6)years, under four (4) different DA’s, the last two (2) years under former District Attorney and US Senator Arlen Specter. During that period, Mr. Schwarz successfully prosecuted numerous high profile cases.

Mr. Schwarz began his own private law practice in 1967 and is regarded as a pioneer and pre-eminent civil rights and personal injury litigator. He has represented hundreds of individuals who have sustained severe and serious injuries which resulted from construction and workplace accidents, medical and healthcare negligence, occupational disease, reckless motor vehicle and trucking operators as well as negligent product manufacturers. Mr. Schwarz's successes have resulted in numerous verdicts and settlements amounting to many millions of dollars. In addition, he has achieved the unique distinction of appearing before and argued before Pennsylvania’s Supreme, Superior and Commonwealth Courts on over twenty (20) occasions and has been successful in each and every case.

During his long career, he has also served as a member of the Philadelphia Board of Law Examiners, as a Master and Judge Pro Tem appointed by the Court of Common Pleas and as a State and Federal Court Arbitrator. He has received numerous Awards and recognition for his pro bono activities including an Honorary Membership in the Knights of Columbus. In addition, he has been a long time member of the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations, the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Associations, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He is married to his wife, Kathleen, and is the proud father of his son and partner, Daniel A. Schwarz, Esquire and his daughter, Stacy E. Schwarz, Esquire.
