FOUNDING PARTNER

Stanley Schwarz began his own private law practice in 1967. He is regarded as a pioneer and pre-eminent civil rights and personal injury litigator. He has represented hundreds of individuals who have sustained severe and serious injuries as a result of construction and workplace accidents, medical and healthcare negligence, occupational exposure, reckless motor vehicle and trucking operators as well as negligent product manufacturers. Stanley’s successes have resulted in numerous verdicts, totaling millions of dollars. In addition, he has achieved the unique distinction of appearing before Pennsylvania’s Supreme, Superior and Commonwealth Courts on over 20 occasions and has been successful in each and every case.

Stanley Schwarz

Stanley was born and raised in Philadelphia. He joined the U.S. Army at age 20 to fight in the Korean War and eventually became an Army Intelligence Officer. He was discharged as a First Lieutenant.

In 1958, Stanley graduated from Temple University Law School with honors, and achieved the prestigious position as Managing Editor of the Temple Law Quarterly. Upon graduation, he was selected as a Judicial Law Clerk for the renowned Court of Common Pleas No. 6 in Philadelphia County and served for two years under five different Judges of that Court. At the recommendation of that Court, he was appointed as an Assistant District Attorney for the City of Philadelphia, a position in which he served for over six years, under four different DAs, including two years under Arlen Specter, who went on to become a renowned U.S. Senator. During that period, Stanley successfully prosecuted numerous high-profile cases.

During his long career, he has also served as a member of the Philadelphia Board of Law Examiners as a Master and Judge Pro Temp appointed by the Court of Common Pleas and as a State and Federal Court Arbitrator. He has received numerous awards and recognition for his pro bono activities, including an Honorary Membership in the Knights of Columbus. In addition, Stanley has been a longtime member of the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations, the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Associations, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Stanley lives with his wife, Kathleen, in Philadelphia, and is the proud father of his son and partner, Daniel A. Schwarz, Esquire, and his daughter, Stacy E. Schwarz, Esquire.
